In a mess

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

I have been cooking a lot lately
Eating very few processed foods in our house means lots of bowls,
spoons and dishes to get clean

I have recently found an awesome recipe for
honey whole wheat bread, my fam raves about.
It's supposed to taste like Great Harvest bread

Summer time fun

Field trip to the butterfly exhibit

Weekly movies at the theater
$1 movies can't be beat

 Visit to the nature center

M & S loved taking harp lessons

 Building fairy houses

Ashton Alligators

Another successful swim season went down in the books
June & July proved to be busy months with M, S & A having swim practice every week day morning
We skipped just a few practices to take field trips but otherwise we there everyday
I kept busy with concessions, Jo kept busy keeping us all smiling and the big girls kept busy working on their strokes & breathing

S & A were able to attend swim divisionals this year
A swimming the fly & free
S swimming the free & breathstroke

Little one learned how to swim this year!
I took her to a private pool a few times a week and "practiced" with her
Lots of tears the first two practices and then it clicked and she LOVES the pool

Last days of school

M & S finished 4th grade...
things they are looking forward to next school year
*being the big kids at school
*safety patrol, supervising kids on the bus & at school
*playing in the band
*participating in the 5th grade musical

A finished 2nd grade...
things she is looking forward to next school year
*having her same teacher again
*being in the same class with the BFF
*moving over to piano lessons with Mrs. R
*playing the recorder in school

I was so proud of M
She earned the Presidential Fitness award from school
Praticiting every night, especially the sit and reach.
Thanks to her parents M does not have a ton of flexibility.
She set a goal, worked on it nightly and accomplished it.
Way to go M

Baptism Day

Yes, Aubrey was baptized in May
Yes, I know it is October
Just trying to play a little catch up...

Aubrey's baptismal service was wonderful
She invited a lot of ward member, two friends from school who came with parents,
her swim coach who attended with her daughter and one of Rob's co-workers.
It is awesome living in the "mission field" as some would call it
We were also blessed to have Rob's and my parents be in town with
our family for the week.
The weather for the weekend was beautiful and we enjoyed a lunch
at our home after the service
Costco had white dresses on sale the month before and I surprised
Aubrey with a new dress to wear for the day.
She had been growing her hair for the past year so it would be
long enough to braid a princess crown, we made it work.
