Back in February which seems so very log ago Rob and I were able to get away over Valentine's Day weekend
We headed to Belo Horizonte which is just a short plane trip away
Our very first months here we had driven through the city on our way to Rio but not really had a chance to explore the area

The main purpose of this trip was to visit the outdoor museum Inhotim
Inhotim is home to one of the largest foundations of contemporary are in Brasil and one of the largest outdoor art centers in Latin America. It was founded by the former mining magnate Bernardo Paz in 2004 to house his personal art collection but later opened to the public.

So thankful we opted for the golf cart tour of the museum
It's housed on 1924 acres so walking at least a portion of the museum takes all day

some of the more modern pieces of art

portrayal of the destruction of the Amazon rain forest

and then the rest of the trip was outdoor adventuring
rock climbing, hiking and enjoying beautiful fresh air

I'll never tire of acai bowls!!
