Rob called for me to come to the yard, quick. When this happens either the kids have caught a nasty critter, there is a snake crawling up a tree or a ROUS crawling through the vegetable patch.
Unfortunately none of those things were happening. Our beautiful, tall, shade tree in the front yard had a giant crack down the middle of the trunk. Must have been from the most recent wind storm.
Rob thought for a minute that he could bolt the tree back together. I wasn't keen on that idea with it being so close to the house.
I guess it would be a great way to not have to pay for a new roof. Not sure how that insurance claim would go if they knew we had bolted a tree together.
Rob and I ventured to the hard ware store and purchased a chain saw, a want on Rob's list that had suddenly become a need.
