Pitstop in Panama

Monday, March 16, 2020

Our family make a grand trip of Central America the month of January
Our flight up to Guatemala included a complimentary 12 hour layover in Panama
We hoped out of the airport as quick as we could and meet our tour guide
He drove us through the city with our first stop being the Panama Canal

What an amazing work of wonder to see
It truly is an engineering feat

We stood on the viewing platform for an hour plus watching this giant boat make it's way through

A pitstop at the Panama City Temple

and of course a stop for ice cream in the old town part of Panama

and to finish up our trip we explored these old ruins outside of the town
It was a great 12 hours but the whole time each of us looked at each other and commented that this was the longest day of our life.
We had boarded a flight the night before at 11pm and it just seemed like the day would not end. Fairly uneventful flight up to Guatemala and we all crashed hard that night in Guatemala city
