Countdown Chain

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

We are slowly approaching the end of our time here in Brasil
I came across this gem of our family that was taken one of the first few weeks we were in Brasil
Fresh of the boat so to speak
None of us besides Rob knew the language, waiting for things to come not sure what was in store
How far we've come, how much we've grown and learned
The places we've been able to see have been amazing, the people we have meet have been wonderful
And soon we will be off to new adventures, a new place to discover, 2 of our girlies flying to coop so to speak and venturing off onto their own adventure
Here's to change and growth and moves and figuring out what's in store for our next chapter

Life's an Adventure

Wednesday, October 3, 2018

last month the girls and Rob both had a holiday
everyone was home
it was practically a Christmas miracle
this teenager business is just pure busyness
we jumped on the chance for a family fun day
calling up friends to meet us at
it's a nearby ranch with a rope course, horseback riding and
delicious buffet lunch

this cutie was not big enough for the adventure course
she stayed on the ground with Daddy and cheered us on and
got in a few extra horse rides

the climbing crew in our gear ready to go

so proud of this little one
she climbed the whole course herself just needing my help
on the platforms clipping in and out of the ropes
this final task required her to hold onto the guides back
she wasn't tall enough to reach the rope herself

 back in the saddle again

little one climbed right on put her feet into the stirrups and said,
"look Mom, I've got pedals!"

JK Bridge

Wednesday, April 25, 2018

Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge, commonly called Ponte JK, is a steel and concrete arch bridge across Lake Paranoá in Brasília, Brazil. It connects the eastern shore of the lake – where Lago Sul, Paranoá and Brasília International Airport are located – to Brasília's city center, via the Monumental Axis. Opened to traffic on December 15, 2002, its distinctive silhouette quickly became a Brasília landmark.

Brasilia's Cathedral

Monday, April 23, 2018

The Cathedral of Brasília is the Roman Catholic cathedral serving Brasília, Brazil, and serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Brasília. It was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, and was completed and dedicated on May 31, 1970. The cathedral is a hyperboloid structure constructed from 16 concrete columns, weighing 90 tons each.

Fun Run in the Sun

Thursday, March 15, 2018

This was the girls second year doing the Fun Run at the school
It's nice to start having traditions from Brasilia
Things we've done once and know what to expect this time around
My older three have been participating in the Cross Country team at school
Just this year it was turned into a team instead of a club
It's a small team but they are doing really well with the greatest guy as their coach ;)

Just hanging out at the finish line with my cheerleaders

And here they come across the finish line, Aubrey & Madison
and Sam and Rob not far behind

Another shot with Samantha, Madison and Bree in the front frame

Sam coming through, she wasn't far behind her other sisters
She's made amazing progress this year as a runner

2nd, 1st, 3rd and 4th place runners!

Sam with her coach

The Cross Country team!

2nd and 3rd place for their division

After the official 5k and 3k run they have each grade level run laps around the field
Jo was nervous because as a third grader she moved up a level and had to run 3 laps

She had a great run and came in at the front of the pack

Little siblings keeping themselves busy while the race continues on

The big three are heading to Curitiba next weekend for a Cross Country meet
Good luck team!

Down by the Dock

Sunday, March 11, 2018

I've been taking a photography class the past few months
In addition to a "new" to me camera
my photography is slowly improving
it's been fun getting shots of my girlies
The lighting was perfect and the dock made for some fun pics

Biker Chick

Sunday, March 4, 2018

We are working on getting another biker in the house
Little was more than ready to pull her "big girl" bike out of storage
Our street isn't the best place for biking so we loaded it into the car and headed for the park
This awesome park is about 10 minutes from our house, just over the bottom bridge
There are all sorts of "roads" around the park and G was happy to pedal away
Hopefully we can get the training wheels off before to long and away she'll go
