Carnival comes to town

Thursday, March 8, 2018

A few weeks ago our family celebrated Carnival
The big three were at a church camp so Rob and I had the littles home with us for the week
There's not a ton of things to choose from in Brasilia
and unfortunately to get out of town anywhere is sooo super expensive
We ended up staying around town; swimming at home, chilling and taking the girls to a
"Kids" carnival party at a nearby museum

When we walked in the doors the employees handed out giant rolls of colored paper ribbon
The littles would hold one end and Rob would throw the roll as high as he could
About 90% of the time it would hook onto a wire at the ceiling height and the girls would run and run and run with their papers

Jo was brave enough to enter the "dunk" tank

My little all dressed up and ready for dancing

Biker Chick

Sunday, March 4, 2018

We are working on getting another biker in the house
Little was more than ready to pull her "big girl" bike out of storage
Our street isn't the best place for biking so we loaded it into the car and headed for the park
This awesome park is about 10 minutes from our house, just over the bottom bridge
There are all sorts of "roads" around the park and G was happy to pedal away
Hopefully we can get the training wheels off before to long and away she'll go

Just a bit of manga

It's Mango season in Brasil
Which means we are eating it by the case
I dried a bunch this week and let the littles gnaw on the pits
Makes for a messy, juicy, sweet and delicious snack

My Little Jo's 9th

Happy birthday sweet little chick
For as long as I can remember this breakfast has been her request...
and I offer to make her anything
Toast with hot cereal
No more, no less, it's a tradition

We all work a little early this morning to watch her open her goodies before boarding the bus
Cold hard cash is always an awesome gift, she currently saving for another Lego set

After just arriving home from Disney she was happy to add a few new pins to her collection

A new tennis bag for the tennis lover

That weekend she had a few friends to watch the Greatest Showman and swim
Happy Birthday Jo, we sure do love you!

Christmas @ the TV tower

Playing catch-up
While Dolly was visiting we took a morning to go explore the TV tower
We had planned on taking the elevator to the top but it's closed on Monday's
Note to self for future visitors
Instead we walked around the grounds and checked out the remaining Christmas decor
They had something similar last year with all the decorations made out of recycled products

We then walked down the hill to the I love Brasilia sign
My kids promptly climbed all over it until we were stopped by the security guard
Oops...I guess the sign is for viewing and not climbing
