Reunion in Recife

Saturday, November 10, 2018

Rob served a 2 year mission for our church 20+ years ago in the Recife South mission. When we received the assignment to move to Brasil we knew we needed a reunion tour the areas that he lived.
Brasil is a big country and the areas that Rob served in covered a really large geographical area. Taking in three separate states. We as a family were able to cover three of the cities that he lived in.

One of the best parts of the whole week was meeting with a family that he lived with while he was in Recife, Brasil. Ilza and her family were so loving to Rob when he was in Recife. They are one of the few people that he always talks about well telling missionary stories. It was a treat to spend the morning talking and visiting with them.

That afternoon we drove past the Recife LDS temple
Sadly it was closed for remodeling so we were not able to go inside

Lunch at a yummy Brasilian restaurant

We spend the rest of the evening walking along the Boa Viagem beach
No swimming here as we spotted several shark fins not far off the beach
Recife is known for the sharks attacks as we were well warned
by a few of our daughters leading up to this trip
The lighting was perfect and I had a new camera lens to play with
Please excuse all the extra pictures of my cuties

September Little Things

Wednesday, October 10, 2018

September has slipped away
we are fully onto our way into spring and awaiting summer
which is basically the same except more rain
less dry dusty days and sunshine

Little one is obsessed with scissors
Keep them on the paper little one and we will be good!

Enjoyed attending a Brasilian concert with some friends
I wasn't familiar with the group but dinner was delicious, conversations were great
and the music was fun to dance to

Attended an air show with my girls one beautiful Sunday afternoon

Took a day to visit the two schools we sponsored
We had boxes of clothes that my girls had helped sort
and we delivered to very appreciative school families

Life lesson in balance
Cauliflower and bis go hand in hand :)

So thankful for my quilting friend
On the last step of finishing my quilt, putting on the binding

Celebrating Brazilians Independence Day at school

Acai is a delicious treat
but...everyone knows when you've eaten it
There's no getting away with the teeth and lip stains

Life's an Adventure

Wednesday, October 3, 2018

last month the girls and Rob both had a holiday
everyone was home
it was practically a Christmas miracle
this teenager business is just pure busyness
we jumped on the chance for a family fun day
calling up friends to meet us at
it's a nearby ranch with a rope course, horseback riding and
delicious buffet lunch

this cutie was not big enough for the adventure course
she stayed on the ground with Daddy and cheered us on and
got in a few extra horse rides

the climbing crew in our gear ready to go

so proud of this little one
she climbed the whole course herself just needing my help
on the platforms clipping in and out of the ropes
this final task required her to hold onto the guides back
she wasn't tall enough to reach the rope herself

 back in the saddle again

little one climbed right on put her feet into the stirrups and said,
"look Mom, I've got pedals!"
