Dirty Diapers and all the good stuff in between!

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Jocelyn celebrated her two month birthday yesterday. I want to say time flies and at moments it does. Yesterday she went through 4 outfits, maybe it's time to move up a diaper size. She was up a lot last night. Screamed from our front door to Aubrey's gymnastics (20 mins.) today, she was just hungry. I feel like screaming to when I don't get feed when I want it. Experienced her first ear infection last week, thankfully has since cleared up. During these moments time does not go so quickly.

Girls are loving life with a little baby sister. Samantha has become very attached to little J. She will gladly walk her in the evenings while I prepare dinner and will even forgo playing with other sisters to watch J. I hope that her love for her little sister continues through the terrible two's when J is devouring her homework or "playing" with her American Girl doll.

Spring weather is keeping Rob busy in the yard. He hauled in 2 yards of topsoil and 1 yard of cow manure into the garden. We should have some robust tomato plants this year. I am looking forward to spring break. No schedules and Rob's parents are in town. His mom loves to hold babies, it might give me a few minutes to tend to my neglected garden/flowers.

Not so Little

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

My little Aubrey is not so little anymore, especially when compared to the little one in the family. A is going through her own little rebellion, being booted from littlest position. I keep telling myself that it is just a moment and most days it is. There are times when she has an attitude that would put some of my sisters to shame. Also other little things that she knows will drive her mom crazy so let's do it again. Then I take a few pics of her holding Jo and all those moments seem to leave.
I walked out into the yard last week and she proudly exclaimed that she could do the monkey bars, "all by herself." Sure enough she proceeded to go across the bars eight times in a row. I love you doodle.

My girlfriend Tiffany Krieger came over a few weeks ago and took pics. of my little one. Just love the way they turned out, little skin rolls and all. I wish they could stay this way forever.

Chunky Monkey

I took Jocelyn in for her 1 month check-up yesterday. She is actually 5 weeks but close enough. Rob and I were making wagers as to how much she had gained. He thought she was over 10 lbs. I didn't think there was any way that she had gained that much. She took us all by surprise weighing in at 11 lb. 7 oz. and 22 inches long. She is only 75% for her height, that is short in our family. It will be interesting to see if she catches up.

Make those Utahan's Proud!

The East Coast finally received enough snow for us Utahan's to not be embarrassed. The storm started in Sunday night, Rob woke up at about 5 am Monday morning and let me know that school had been cancelled. Now granted school has been cancelled three other days this year for pitiful amounts of white stuff and a little bit of ice. I was frustrated once again thinking the kids are going to be cooped up inside because of the wind, cold and no snow to play in. To top it off Jocelyn had her 1 month check-up. There is nothing funner that walking into a doctors appointment and my children out numbering the staff 2-1. I finally summoned the courage to climb out of my warm bed and peeked out the window. There was white stuff and a lot of it, and it was still falling from the sky. When all was said and done there was about 8 inches on our deck. Rob took the day off work, the pediatrician's office was closed and the kids went sledding and threw snow balls all day long. They went out again yesterday to play and are planning another playdate with the snow today. Thankfully it is supposed to melt by tomorrow, I am ready to start work on my other baby, my garden.
