Pão de canela

Monday, May 28, 2018

Aubrey has become an incredible bread maker especially when it comes to cinnamon rolls
Gwen came home from school this week with an assignment to make an "experiment" in the kitchen
Aubrey stepped right up and offered to have G experiment making cinnamon rolls
They were delicious as always and G had an awesome time getting to roll out her little roll
adding cinnamon and sugar and watching them bake
The next day G took a plate full of treats to her school class for her friends to enjoy

Police Week 5K

Friday, May 25, 2018

After listening to a few of my girls complain about not having an functioning Cross Country team
Rob got together with a few other co-workers and they stepped forward to sponsor
the CC team at the girls school
I'm so grateful that they were willing to take time from their busy work schedule to help these kids
It's a small but mighty team
To celebrate the end of the season they ran a 5K for police week sponsored by the Embassy

These two cuties were the cheering section, directors and extra police presence

Itapu Dam

Monday, May 21, 2018

The Itaipu Dam's hydroelectric power plant produced the most energy of any in the world as of 2016, setting a new world record of 103,098,366 megawatt hours (MWh), and surpassed the Three Gorges Dam plant in energy production in 2015 and 2016. Completed in 1984, it is a binational undertaking run by Brazil and Paraguay at the border between the two countries, 15 km (9.3 mi) north of the Friendship Bridge. The project ranges from Foz do Iguaçu, in Brazil, and Ciudad del Este in Paraguay, in the south to Guaíra and Salto del Guairá in the north. The installed generation capacity of the plant is 14 GW, with 20 generating units providing 700 MW each with a hydraulic design head of 118 metres (387 ft). In 2016, the plant employed 3038 workers.[5]

Friendship Bridge on our way to Itaipu Dam
The car line to drive into Paraguay would take 3 hours to cross on this particular day!

Standing with Mr. Megawatt

Those white turbines pictured are large enough to house a semi-truck
The size of this dam was just amazing

The water coming out from the dam is just the water used to cool the turbines
We arrived about 3 weeks after they had shut to dam from runoff

Iguaçu Falls via Argentina

Friday, May 18, 2018

Day two we headed to Argentina where I learned that my passport had expired
Thankfully we had a great tour guide and a back up to get me through

The front of our bus in Argentina and the back in Brasil

Taking in the views of the tri-country river where Brasil, Argentina & Paraguay all converge

Stopping at the first outlook
Amazing!!

Some pretty awesome waterfalls and spectacular views
Argentina side is different in that you take a series of trains and trails to see the falls from different angles

I love this man and am so grateful to see this beautiful world with him by my side

Waiting for the train and getting our hair done, time management girlie's

Bree was sick this day and not in the mood for pictures
I being a compliant mother took them anyway :)
Lots of coke and shade for her through the day

My little butterfly catcher. They were everywhere and became annoying by the days end

I spy with my little eyes Dad and the pink hat girlies Gwen & Jo
